Brainstorm was started in 1990 by Kelly Sargent, a design whizbang who had spent quite some years at agencies in the pacific northwest, followed by a multi-year stint teaching advertising, graphic design, photography and layout at Iowa State University. Although she LOVED her students, Kelly felt the call of the wild and decided to open a business for herself.
Originally focusing on print design and selling stock photography, Brainstorm soon grew in response to its client’s needs. “Place some ads for me” they would ask - “Design a trade show display” ...“Turn that great idea into a campaign for me” they pleaded. Kelly listened, and did as they asked. The result is that now Brainstorm has hundreds of clients and serves a huge array of needs. Some think we design trade show displays and trade show graphics, others think we’re the place to go to for logo design and illustration, still more think we just do advertising design and media buying, or photography.
The fact is, we do all those things! So remember, if it’s about communicating to your customers, we do it.
